Hello, I’m Lynne and I’m delighted to have joined the HEART UK team as one of their Dietetic Advisor’s. Since I’ve started, it’s been a busy couple of months getting to know everyone and learning all about the charity’s fantastic work. A recent review has concluded a low saturated fat diet should continue to be recommended in those with FH.
Due to the scale of LDL reductions required in FH management, medication is considered the cornerstone of treatment and dietary therapy has received less emphasis. The purpose of the current review was to re-assess the case for reducing saturated fat and determine the value of dietary management for FH patients.
Three lovely ladies from FLexercise popped into HEART UK to present us with a cheque for over £3,000. FLexercise raised the funds doing a ‘virtual step’ challenge for National Fitness Day in September.
