Will you keep families together for longer with a gift in your will to HEART UK?

Thank you for considering a gift in your will (sometimes known as a legacy) to HEART UK.

Heart and circulatory diseases are among the leading causes of death in the UK.  That means, every single day 134 people die prematurely from heart attacks and strokes, with high cholesterol playing a major role.  Almost one in two adults in the UK has high cholesterol, putting them at risk.  That’s why your gift is so important.

With no government funding, lives can only be saved by people like you, who stand with us in our fight against heart and circulatory diseases by leaving gifts in wills to HEART UK.

HEART UK is a small but mighty charity, determined to keep families together for longer by lowering cholesterol.  But we can only do that with your help.

How your gift will save lives...

  • Your gift will be a lifeline for those needing support and reliable information to manage their cholesterol, helping to significantly reduce the risk of premature death from heart attacks and strokes.  Your legacy will keep families together for longer.
  • You’ll ensure that those needing expert guidance can access our Specialist Cholesterol Helpline.
  • You’ll be educating doctors and nurses to spot high cholesterol early and provide the best care possible.
  • You’ll bolster our mission to make screening for hereditary cholesterol conditions available to every child, allowing life-saving treatment to start early.

  • You’ll hold the NHS accountable, keeping high cholesterol prevention a top priority in the fight against heart and circulatory diseases.
  • You’ll unite world-renowned consultants, doctors and nurses at HEART UK’s annual cholesterol conference, where cutting-edge research, the latest scientific advancements, and best practices in patient care are shared.

A gift in your will to HEART UK, no matter the size, will save lives.

What type of gift can I leave in my will to HEART UK?

There are three types of gift you can leave in your will:

(‘Estate’ means everything you own that is of value)

A share of your estate (also known as a residuary gift) - Many people leave a residuary gift to HEART UK.  This comprises of  whatever is left over once gifts of money and items have been distributed from your estate.  You can leave the whole of your estate (100%), or a part of it, to HEART UK.

An amount of money (also known as a pecuniary gift) - It’s a good idea to ‘index link’ these gifts so they keep their value over the years.  This means your gift will be as useful as you intended it to be at the time of writing your will.

An item of value (also known as a specific gift) - You can gift specific personal possessions like property, jewellery, or shares.
