Development and Communications Manager

HEART UK, the UK’s only cholesterol charity, has an exciting opportunity to join our friendly team as a Development and Communications Manager, you will be working 4 days a week in our offices based in Maidenhead. The salary for this role is £29,600 (FTE £37K) and the closing date for applications is 30th November. The first round of interviews will be held w/c 30th November followed by second interviews w/c 7th December.

In this fun but challenging role you will line manage 2 (Part time) fundraisers and will work with the fundraising team to further develop the fundraising strategy to deliver against targets. The role will report into and work closely with the Head of Communications and Policy to ensure effective promotion of fundraising activities and HEART UK’s general communications.

You will also be responsible in leading the further development and implementation of HEART UK’s annual fundraising strategy this includes undertake proactive, responsive and accurate research on prospects and potential sources of funding; develop and cultivate relationships with companies, trusts and foundations and other individuals or organisations who may support our work; assist with writing, coordination and submission of funding applications to donors; plan and implement fundraising campaigns.

You will also support on the development of HEART UK’s communications, managing and promoting HEART UK through various platforms (website, email, newsletter, social media, traditional media, print).

You will be a self-starter, happy to work independently, while also working to embed a positive culture within the organisation. This is a new role, so there is plenty of room to shape the strategy, and to innovate around new forms of income development.
