H·E·A·R·T UK ties up a successful event at Wellington Country Park
Almost 100 walkers took part in Sunday′s Teamredlaces Choles-Stroll at Wellington Country Park raising more than £500 for H·E·A·R·T UK - The Cholesterol Charity.
All those taking part sported the charity′s bright red T-shirts and unique redlaces. As part of the charity′s mission to raise awareness of inherited high cholesterol conditions and the importance of maintaining a healthy heart, all walkers aged 18 or over had the opportunity to have a free cardiovascular test at the event. The charity′s own dietitian, Linda Main, was also on hand to give dietary advice to complement the CVD testing as well as hand out free bottles of water and apples.
Carole Gryglaszewska, Head of Fundraising, said after the event: “This has been a great day and we are really grateful to all those who came to Wellington Country Park to raise funds for us. The sunshine inspired us all and it was so rewarding to see so many H·E·A·R·T UK T-shirts on display. The money raised will help us to continue our invaluable work helping to support individuals, families and health professionals to understand and control cholesterol conditions and other heart risks.”
