H·E·A·R·T UK - The Cholesterol Charity - campaigns to increase awareness amongst policy makers and the public of raised cholesterol as a major public health concern. The charity works in partnership with key partners to achieve shared campaigning objectives.
Why does H·E·A·R·T UK campaign?
Cholesterol is the single greatest risk factor for heart disease, the nation′s biggest killer. Many people can reduce and maintain healthy levels of cholesterol through changes to diet and lifestyle although some will also require mediation to reduce their risk. Cholesterol is a public health issue because the vast majority of UK adults have unhealthy levels of cholesterol.
