Teamredlaces Flora Londonmarathon 2008

Sunday 13 April 2008 was H·E·A·R·T UK’s red-letter day –

a day that will live forever in the memory of Teamredlaces and those who have supported them on their Marathon journey.

It was a day which dawned with promise, which brightened during the morning and then, just as 35,000 runners got into their stride, disintegrated into hail, wind and rain. But it was our Big Day – our Teamredlaces day - and it was ours to enjoy! We had negotiated the packed tube trains with our helium balloons, hoisted our banners onto the railings and claimed our pitches along the route – we had arrived!

So we braved the elements and shouted and sang, cheered and clapped as our brave runners whizzed past the H·E·A·R·T UK Cheerpoints and over the finish line. And just to show what a determined and hardy bunch they were – which we who’ve supported them over the last few months have never doubted – every Teamredlaces runner who started the race completed it! 100% success rate! 150% pride in the Team!

More than 400 runners wore our distinctive Teamredlaces running vests, and they were joined by another 20,000 runners wearing H·E·A·R·T UK’s redlaces – raising vital awareness about inherited high cholesterol (IHC). Not content with running 26.2 miles, many made extra statements to raise awareness for our Charity and bring a smile to the faces of the crowds lining the route.

Why not sponsor Teamredlaces now?
